Preview transparency, copy a solid CSS value, or download a real transparent PNG in either orientation.
Formats
Adjust any RGB color’s opacity and copy the result as a transparent HEX color code or an RGBA value for CSS and design work.
HEX8
HEX8 adds a two-digit alpha byte to the familiar six-digit HEX color, making it useful for CSS variables and design tokens.
RGBA
The RGBA color generator keeps the red, green, blue, and alpha channels explicit, so transparency is easy to read and adjust in stylesheets.
Real PNG transparency
The checkerboard helps you preview transparency, but it is never baked into the image. Your horizontal or vertical download contains only the selected color and its alpha channel, whether it is solid or fading.

FAQ
Choose a base color, select Solid mode, and lower the opacity. The generator creates matching HEX8 and RGBA values; you can also download the result as a PNG with a real alpha channel.
Transparency is not a single RGB color; it comes from an alpha value. For example, #00000000 in HEX8 and rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) are fully transparent black.
Any color can be transparent when its alpha value is below full opacity. In HEX8, the alpha is the final two digits; in RGBA, it is the last value.
No. #000000 is a normal six-digit HEX code for opaque black and has no alpha value. In HEX8, #00000000 is fully transparent black, while #000000FF is fully opaque black.
A transparent PNG stores an alpha channel so pixels can be fully or partly transparent. PNGs downloaded from this tool contain real alpha transparency; the preview checkerboard is not included in the file.
In 8-digit HEX, 80% opacity uses the alpha value CC. Add it after the six-digit color, such as #000000CC for black at 80% opacity.
In 8-digit HEX, 100% transparency uses alpha 00. Any six-digit color followed by 00 is fully transparent, such as #00000000. This is the same as 0% opacity.
